Gretsch and 65Amps London Pro
Since there are not much examples of this combination, I'll share some sounds of a Gretsch 5120 w/ TV Jones through the red channel of my 65Amps London Pro. I'm using a lower gain tube instead of the 12AX7. Not sure if it's a 12AT7 or 12AU7.
I was amazed how well it cleaned up with the guitar volume. There's no OD pedals. Only some reverb, slapback, delay and tremolo from a Nova System. I used a SM57 about 20cm from the grill cloth pretty much pointed to the center of the speaker and a SM58 about 2m away from the cab pointed to the center too. http://soundcloud.com/jotacaster/sets/gretsch |

Very nice and versatile tones. Dan Boul makes a great amp - even if Myles Rose stands over his shoulder all day long!

Ahah.
Myles is a nice guy but I noticed that when he's around, he's always around! The amp is great and the Gretsch was the only guitar that was not bounding with it. I finally went to the higher gain channel and rolled back the volume on the guitar, and there it was what I've been looking for! |
