The 3 min guitar playing demo

So I got this Flip Camcorder at Christmas, I bought it to use for Christmas and it turned out to be the the best thing we got at Christmas ! Well that's not quite true, I did buy my wife a new Mandolin.

So , after taking video's of the cats and the squirrels and other misc. stuff I said to myself, "Self, why don't you do something that's actually useful"..I had been thinking about a 1 min guitar demo but 1 min turned into 3. Some NOT LOCAL friends have been asking for something so here it is..

The 3 min Guitar Demo ! Uncut, unedited..done on a $119 Flip Ultra Camcorder just sittin' there on a cheap tripod .

Welcome to the future I guess....

well recorded and shows a great clarity in your guitar sound. The camera did a great job for something that cost $119.

cheers

Thanks LennyEdwards, but the truth be known I normally use a Sparkle Drive and Tremelo stomp pedal, I was to lazy to plug them in so I just played thru the amp direct ,I didn't really know what to expect.

First off, nice playing, brother.
I got my wife one of those Flip cameras for Christmas and she loves the thing. It's so easy to use and the quality is pretty darned good. Mostly we have a bunch of videos of the dogs acting weird...

Yah, I'm really digging your tone. Tasteful. What amp / setup are you using here?

thanks fellow tele'mites..Well the amp thing, I just plugged into the Classic 30 , used a bit of amp overdrive which I never use , found a sort of setting that I thought may work for a non stop 8 or 10 songs, I guess thats what it is..I had no clue how it would turn out with the Flip thing so I never bothered to get deeply involved.

Thinking about this today while working, the entire 3 min exercise was pretty intimidating, it took about 8 or 10 takes to do the whole thing front to back with minimal damage. Oh well, more practice i suppose..

Next time I'll put more thought into the amp and such now that I know the Flip thing works.

It was kinda fun putting the 10 songs together, sort of a workout...

T, now you know how good it sounds with just the cable+guitar+amp !

Nice one !

Thanks Big John, I think for the past few decades I have always been a guitar/cable/amp guy. A simpleton I suppose

I would use the OD on the HR Deville but generally speaking I have been a pretty basic boring conservative player. I have never been a big fan of effects but I do however like the Sparkle Drive and the DE Tremolo Pedal and have been using them for the past year.

But.. I can probably drop the Tremelo pedal, I just acquired a Custom Vibrolux ( due to be delivered tomorrow ) so now I'll just use the S Drive !

Nice work Tony — especially admired the behind-the-nut harmonic bend!

Nice in every way. I hope you know that.

You fingering is so clean, I think a lot of people will learn a lot from this.

We can really see everything you are doing.

We've all seen instructional videos that don't look nearly this good.

Please consider doing some more.

No, really!

Very nice everything. Damn, that Tele and Peavey sound good together. It is insane you could get such good audio quality out of a little Flip cam. I am shocked.
Yea, I can hear the years of playing in the fingertips - you and that Tele fit each other very well.
