First youtube video

Just messing around over a backing track. Pretty insecure with my playing so its a big step for me to put something like this out there. Gotta get my feet wet tho. Any comments are more than welcome. Better videos to come!

I appreciate it.

Plan on doing more, it should help me get better. You know, seeing and hearing myself from a different perspective.

I like it. It's nice and one thing I find great is your sense of rhytm..important part of playing.

Honestly? It sounded good to me... Keep it up. You've got no reason to be insecure. Your playing has some real strengths.

Cut yourself some slack brother and stay positive no matter what Youtubian comment trolls may come. By far you are on the right track.

Shades of "BBSANTANA" I like the combination of styles you use,I detected a heavy influence of both Carlos and Mr.Kings stylings,
keep up the good work, aint nothin but a song and you doin good by it.

Thanks alot everyone!...I've gotten the BB, Santana thing before. While they were influences as a teenager, I haven't conciously tried to sound like either in a long time. I guess elements of what they do, or their vibe, is just "stuck" in my playing. Could be worse .

And as far as rhythm, I prefer to do that most any day. Was always into blues, funk (the meters, james brown etc), r&b, soul music, hip-hop, moreso than hard rock, so rhythm always came naturally.

Thanks again for the kind words and support.

smoothlymellownice. You're braver than I am. Video and sound is good, what did you use to record it?

Thanks. Kodak zi8 pocket camcorder ($180) on a small tripod right on top of my Fender Twin Reverb RI. Volume set really low on the amp (barely over 2). Camera has an input for a mic too, but I thought the sound from the camera itself was fine, for this kinda thing at least. It gets the point across.

Mr. Burns, Very, very nice! (… I really enjoyed it … could not stop admiring/checking out that rosewood board)

As a general observation, you Rock!

Thanks alot Joe...Its a nice rosewood board with massive frets. Took me awhile to get used to. If I recall correctly, you're from Philly right. Im 5 minutes out of the city, close to the airport. Always good to be in contact with local, like minded (regarding music at least) people.

Also, I posted another clip yesterday with more of a country vibe. If you get a chance to check it out, please do so and let me know what u think. Thanks again.

I dig it! Nice phrasing. The vi-maj7 in that progression affords some nice possibilities. The thrill ain't gone!
