Check out some of my guitaring!

Hi there! I recorded this demo and I'd like to hear your opinion on it. What do you think?

Thanks.

It's just an old MIM Telecaster, amp modeling and some effects, nothing fancy.

I think you may be better represented by a myspce site with different songs and less processed tones. There are some ideas worth developing but remember that playing music is more important than playing guitar. Welcome to the site :)

Thanks for your feedback. That very demo is just to show some of my (very limited) guitar skills. I'm actually a lot more focussed on the songwriting than on the guitaring. I can't sing though, so if I want to get the stuff out there I have to start at least somewhere...

Would anyone round here be intrested in a full song?

I dig the second clip that has the big chords and the drums. I'm not too keen on modeling amps so the sound is a bit too processed for my tastes. Sort of hides what the guitar actually sounds like. However, run that big riff through a nice Marshall or any amp with respectable crunch and it becomes even sweeter.

For some reason I can't edit the original post, so I'm bumping this with a fresh link:

It get very cool at 1:17. Good recorded quality. big sound. What DAW platform are you using? It is a real smorgasboard of tones....does not sound like you are using a Tele - if so how are you processing your sounds?

I wouldn't take the members reticence as criticism. The Tele attracts more country and blues than it does rockers. With exceptions of course, but I agree with pooh that you have some excellent ideas worth developing. As one of my early mentors once told me you don't want to show everything you've got in the first minute. Whether you're working a 4 hour gig or 4 minute song don't give it all away. Lots of ideas in there I'd like to hear stretched out definitely.
Keep at it and welcome.

It's a Tele with a Little '59 so that's some more options in sound. As for the sounds it's not that much voodoo just equalizing and filters plus the usual suspects such as chorus, delay and stuff.

Well the Tele sure attracts me, couldn't think of playing any other electric. As for giving too much away well those clips are the stuff I have no use for, I focus more on songwriting than on flashy playing or sounds but I just find it frustrating to do that "guy with acoustic guitar" thing all the time, especially when you're a lousy to mediocre singer without a band. Guess I just gotta work with what I have. Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it a lot!

As for me? I really dig the acoustic parts with tele over top... kinda "floyd-ish" sound ya got goin on in the beginning. At about the 3:00 mark there's some good eclectic work happening. I like your variability in your music. It shows that you are musically open, which a lot of us here aren't! lol :) Keep on keepin on, Sacha... ALL FORMS OF TELE MUSIC ARE WELCOME HERE!! Glad to have Your Input In Song. :)

Lots of interesting ideas there.

I'll admit that i'm not a big fan of digital/modeling stuff (if i can detect it, at least - and that's just my preference, not dissing your tone). But having said that, the clip shows a lot of creativity and there are more than a few nuggets that can be mined and refined to make some cool, currently in vogue rock-style songs.

Awesome clip, keep at it! A full song (or songs, for that matter) would be great!

Ok I liked the first part up to the delay part. It sounds like Steven Stills playing over a Neil Young track!. That's not a bad thing.

So by request, there you are.

Reruns (Demo)

I told you I’m a lousy singer, so don’t say I didn’t warn you…lol…

Thanks everyone for listening. Keep the feedback coming!

Click here for some acoustic stuff.
