"Haunted Sand Castle" Playalong/Cover (Surf Music)
Billy West put out a CD a few years ago called, "Me Pod" with his band, the Grief Counselors. Billy, if you don't know, is the voice behind the main character on the "Futurama" cartoon and provided voices for both Ren & Stimpy on the "Ren & Stimpy" cartoons. As well, he was the man with a 1000 voices during the heyday of the Howard Stern show - his imitation of Larry of the Three Stooges is priceless.
Anyhoo, he and his band put out a fun CD of all kinds of musical styles - this song, "Haunted Sand Castle", is a fun and simple surf guitar romp. Not only is he talented with voices, he's talented on the guitar, too. As for me, well, I'm just playing along and having some fun with the occasional mistake or 3 thrown in...maybe more! I'm playing my 2009 Special Edition American Standard Tele through my '65 RI Twin Reverb 40th Anniversary amp. It was a bit hot in my home office as I was having central ac issues...thus the sweatin'...I swear I'm not doing some other kind of picking at 2:20! |
