A song from '74

..hit soundclick; it's the first one "last Man Out" I first wrote and recorded it in 1974 on an old Akai M-8 reel to reel w/sound on sound.

this is a new recording of an old song; I'm using my MIM Tele Std and my 72 Deluxe clone thru a Marshall HDFX100 into an Echo Audiofire. Back then I used my 62 Strat plugged straight into the deck on either the right or left amp. Dirty, crude and noisy, Lol! Thanx for the interest.

That was beautiful. I can just imagine how it would sound on the radio with a certain kind of production of the era. I would have been a sucker for some of those chord changes. My friends and I from our band in 1968-72 are making a CD of the songs we wrote back then. It is hard getting together, since we live so far apart, but we are trying.

Thanks for this. It is great.

Thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot to me. I'm really dissappointed with what my voice has become; I hadn't tried singing in years, and so far it's just not there. My vocal cords feel dry and stiff, but maybe with a little practice they'll come around. What I did with this one was record two tracks an octave apart to see which one sounded the best, and they both sucked imo, so I ran them together and it sounds odd, but passable. The good thing about modern tech is I can go back re-do any of my tracks on any song, so if I can get better, all the work isn't wasted. Again thanks for the feedback; always good to get a reaction. I've got a bunch more stuff on that old Akai and some more new stuff brewing in my head, so I'll be sticking it up here from time to time. Aren't computers and the net great? I would have died an' gone to heaven if I'd had this back in '74! Oh, and good luck with your efforts, Larry! Good music is timeless; just because it's old don't mean it can't go anywhere!
