Wow, I'm impressed.

Tonight I played a couple songs at the local coffee house.

My bass player bailed, and my new drummer was being skittish and didn't wanna go. His brother volunteered to play drums for me.

He'd never played a real set of drums in his life. He'd only played Rock Band.

Check it out.

We do a slow version of "Folsom Prison Blues", then Merle Haggard's "Ramblin' Fever", followed by "Love's Gonna Live Here".

16 = impressive

no bass player (and still sound good) = impressive

"rock band" only drummer = priceless

Seriously, that was pretty darn good.

Nice licks, and that drummer gets high marks for sheer nerve!

I would make sure that the bass player and drummer's reputation of leaving their "band members" out to dry preceeds them where ever they go. But +1 to the drummer for steppin in and +10000000 to you for persevering through a tough situation. And nice sparkle-caster :)

Yeah! As has been said, kinda lame of the band to ditch, and very good show on your part, stepping up and getting it done!
I have to say, I liked the sound you were getting... hate to use words like "tone" or "twang" or something, but, there was something nicely dialed in there, for a bare and cool, Bakersfield kind of sound. What rig were you using? - and what actually captured the recording, if you don't mind my asking? We recently shot some gig video on what I thought was a pretty good video cam, but the guitar came through pretty thin on the recordings. Yours captured a nice, live, feel, and nice Tele tone.

It happens around here all the time. Especially "Folsom", you'd think it's the only song Cash ever did!

I'm sorry, I lied about the bass player part.

We're kids, and he had to stay home because his grandparents were over. Simple as that.

My current drummer is actually the drummer in the video's older brother. Neither of them had ever played in front of anyone, and my normal drummer had only played a real set twice. He just had nerves, and didn't know what to do. That's understandable to me, especially when the subject is a kid.

I'm just playing one of the guitars I've built through a Twin Reverb RI.

I'm using a Samsung SC-DX103 to record the audio and video. It's just a nice little thing to work with, and it produces quality stuff.

Thank you.
