Squier Classic Vibe 50 Tele with Twang King pup

Here's a rambling clip of me testing the new DiMarzio Twang King bridge pickup and compensating brass saddles on my CV. I really like how that Squier sounds and plays now!

Yeah man! And they're cheap too compared to Fender, Duncan and boutique offerings. I wouldn't put a 200 dollar pup on a 300 dollar axe anyway :-)

Claasic Vibe Tele

Absolutely love the Classic Vibe Tele. My main gigging amps are a Hot Rod DeVille 2x12, Peavey Delta Blues 1x15 and a modded Blues Jr. I got to thinking about swapping pickups out on it, but to me it's got plenty of twang. I know they're not premium pickups, but they are a nice Alnico 3 with plenty of brightness and bite from the bridge pickup. I can't put this thing down, and I own an American and MIM Tele. I think when the Alnicos age in, they'll warm nicely. One thing I really like is you get a smooth volume rolloff across the range, something you don't often get with cheaper Asian electrics. The synthetic bone nut beats the hell out those cheap white plastic nuts. My only nit picks; The neck could just a little stiffer and a hair beefier and too much contact grease in the pots, makes it a little hard to do those nice Roy Buchanan volume swells. I give this axe a fun factor of 9.5, a playability factor of 9.5, and an overall 9.0. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun banging out the Hollies 'Long Cool Woman' or The Doobies 'Long Train Running'. I think I'll leave it stock for right now
