I Loved Her First

I haven't posted in Twanger for a bit so I thought I would post this one. I learned this to play at a wedding and made a recording to give to the the father of the bride as a memento of the occasion.

Very nice, Daddydex. Excellent job. That was the song my daughter and I danced to at her wedding back in May.

Thanks Endzone! Are you ready for some football?

Actually that is me on everything except the drums (EZ Drummer). Nobody ever really lets me play the drums.

Big Dan,

I always dig your arrangements and your voice... well, I hate you for having that voice... You should do a medley of the 70's radio hits like "moonlight feels right" "brandy" "its so nice to be with you" "smoke of a distant fire" "I keep forgettin" "smilin' faces" etc... like a 10 minute thing... the folks in the bars would go nuts... and your voice would JUST OWN those songs...

Great job.

Daddydex, that was really great!

It has me reaching for the shotgun to ward off the fellas even though my little girl is only 18months old!

Thanks GB. Very nice words.

The medley thing is a great idea and I like all those songs (I love smoke of a distant fire). I'll get right on it. Alright, well not right on it but I will start listening to some of those songs for sure.

This song can really tug at ones emotions. I have only sung it in public twice and both times someone was crying. I myself had some emotional moments while learning the tune. This was fueled by the fact that we are expecting a child, a first for both of us, in early November. I didn't know I would turn into a puddle of goo.

Wow!!!
You have a very powerful voice.
Nice pitch control.
Very nice job.
I think you should also try to do some celtic stuff. You have a voice tailor made for it.
It is amazing how much impact a song can have when it involves personal experience.

I listened to your song a few days ago and had it stuck in my head for a couple of days afterward.
Great song, great vocals, everything.
If I had a daughter to ever dance with it would have to be that song and I'd have to learn to waltz.

Thank you very much Michael! I hope I am making progress on my recording skills. I am certainly not pretty enough for Nashville.

Thanks for the kind words Tex. I hope I didn't give anyone the impression that I wrote this song. It is a cover.

I've said many times over the years that I would gladly trade my guitar skills for a really good singing voice. I would sell all my gear in a hearbeat to sing like you do Big Daddy!!

I don't think I've ever heard that song, but I have a two year old daughter and I thought I was going to have to run for a kleenex.
Very nice job, nice production and your voice really works well with that song.
