Peaceful Easy Feeling (cover)

For a while now, Dogbear and I have been playing together via long distance internet. Last week, we started to put this track together when on a whim; Dogbear started to create the background track and asked BrianF to do the B Bender Tele fill parts and this is the result.

All the great singing/harmonizing, acoustic rhythm and bass guitars by Dogbear, B Bender Tele fills by BrianF .
Drums by "Roland"

I dig it! Perfectly played and the mix sounds great. The only thing I'm missing is a real drummer...although "Roland" does keep perfect time...

Nice Job and a what a great tune to boot. How did you guys manage it "long distance"? .... just curious what program you used and how you go about putting it together?

great tune. I used to play that with my jamming buddy Mike, whom I haven't seen or talked to in quite a few years. Marriage, kids and moving away will do that sometimes.

Mlburch, the best way to answer that question is to say that it doesn't matter what each user uses as a recording program. The trick is to send everything as a zero line track. Which means every track or mix sent is recorded from the same point (at zero) so that when it is imported into the other users program, it is in synch with the rest of the tracks. Each track is therefore shared with the other person and both can do a final mix that is to their liking. It is also important to use the highest quality sound format that you have bandwidth to send. As far as programs are concerned, Brian uses N-Track and I use Pro tools 6.4.

Brian, alluded to it, but; we have never actually met or spoken to each other. Brian lives in southern California and I live on the west coast of Florida. We started doing this a short while after Brian installed a long throw P/W bender for me. We have let our music and shared interest in Clarence White and the Byrds shape our friendship over the net.

Great version of a great song. I recorded an acoustic version with my guitar teacher, Graham just a few weeks ago. That's me on vocal and strumming with Graham doing the widdly bits and bv's!

Dentman, very nice. Interesting overlay on the solo. What are you using to record?

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. This was recorded using pro-tools on a mac, with 2 ES equipped Taylor acoustics plugged into the mixer. All the clever stuff (playing and knob-twiddling) is left to Graham, I just strum and sing a bit!
