Bless This Road, 2nd home effort

Here's my 2nd home effort on an original song . . . this one with acoustic, electric, and bass. The Tele is my Nashville with Keystones, this time on the Tele front-and-back combo. Epi Masterbilt acoustic (these are GREAT values), Fender Prodigy bass (early ninties model with Jazz/P pickup combo.) Thanks to Daddydex again for positive input on the mix.

Very tasteful, understated playing - I love the quiet, chimey Tele sound with the acoustic. Great mix, too. Good job, man!

Thanks! I've got a studio version underway where the vocal is stronger (better mic, for one thing), but I haven't quite gotten the same "vibe" between the guitars as I got with this home effort. I guess it's a lesson on how with a different enviroment and mics -- "better" though both may be -- you're really starting all over.

Wow! that's beautiful!
I imagine you playing in a wooden cabin by a peaceful lake ...what a picture you paint. Wonderful.

I know exactly what you mean - I always "sketch out" songs on my 8-track, and then never get the same "vibe" in a more professional setting with a real drummer, etc. I always wind up preferring the home recording where I screwed up the drums a little. I have to wonder if it doesn't have something to to with the immediacy and intimacy of home recording. You definitely captured that intimacy here.

Cool track... that cabin feel is definitely there and it gives me some Cash vibes as well.

The feel is there in this one but it needs some polishing, de-esser and some rumble removal. But if the studio version doesn't work out, you can always put some more time into the mix of this version ;)

Overall I liked it and I'm looking forward to the final version. Keep us posted!
