Fender Rolls Out new Websites Worldwide -- Fender Frontline Online
June 9, 2007, TDPRI TeleNews Staff
Fender Musical Instrument Corporation (FMIC) rolled out new website designs and functionality over night last night. Called Fender Frontline Online, the new look is a refinement of the previous style with some added functionality.
The new site proclaims, "
In response to the ever-increasing need for more information regarding all things Fender, we're expanding Fender Frontline to new media formats designed to give you the most up-to-date information on all your favorite instruments, artists and events."
Along with all the usual product info and listings there is a new Community section with the Fender Lounge Forum. This is the first forum run by Fender and hosted on their website for customers to participate in. However, the forum appears to be constantly monitored by Fender employees as the forum is only open during FMIC corporate office hours Mon - Fri.
International links on the page take you to a dozen FMIC websites around the world which leads to some interesting reading... like the Fender Russia site with a Custom Shop
"Russian Stratocaster."
Enhanced support links add new found functionality to the site as well. There is a link to a new
Fender Frontline In Home edition that will mail
Frontline to your door. Fender had stopped publishing the long running print edition of
Frontline with the 2006 issue but received a great many complaints about its disappearance.
