Tjarko Jeen, Jesse Harris & Jimmy Wilsey...
We're lucky here at the ol' TDP.
I just got the new Rancho Deluxe CD in the mail this past week and it's GREAT! Not only one of the best bands out there, but some of the best country Tele playing you'll ever hear! Fantastic playing. Jesse plays better than Brad Paisley. Yep I said it. Listen to any of the Rancho Deluxe CD's and prove me wrong! Taste & tone! I included Tjarko in this line up because I've been listening to his stuff lately with Ronnie Dawson and if you haven't heard it - go get it! "Just Rockin' and a Rollin'" is my fav CD with Tjarko. "Tired of Travelin'" will change your life! and of course there's James Wilsey's new CD. Fanfreakintastic! I've shared this story with Jimmy, but I'll share it with all of you. My first cassette I ever bought was Buddy Holly's Oh Boy. The second tape I ever bought was Chris Isaak's Heart Shaped World with Jimmy. I read the liner notes and when I saw the tiny pic of Jimmy with his Strat I knew he was a okay in my book. Chris Isaak was the voice but Jimmy was/is the sound! El Durado is great and if you're a fan of great music, this CD is for you. Of course there's Redd Volkaert and all the other amazing players here, but I'm tellin' y'all - we are blessed to have access to all of these and more great musicians. Johnny Isaacs

Tjarko, or olewichita as we know him, is not only a great player, but he's a living encyclopedia when it comes to early rock, blues and country music and who played with who.
I for one value his posts immensely, and I learn something new from his vast knowledge every time. Here's a clip I found on youtube - Tjarko on the far left playing a butterscotch Tele: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD2CklfC6_0 |

thanks johnny... i'm humbled to be mentioned in the same sencence as jimmy and jesse... when i started playing guitar jimmy's playing was like a breath of fresh air and i remember listening to the radio at night hoping blue hotel would come on... i agree that chris isaak was the voice and jimmy was the sound... i'm emberassed to admit i stole a copy of silvertone at a bar i once played at as a kid...

California!
Hey Jesse... I'd love to make it out to the big CA again sometime. While we haven't played together yet, I have played your sparkle guitar you sold to Jimmy and it's a GREAT one!
And for those of you who are reading this post, you have to give the new Rancho Deluxe CD a listen as it is in Heavy Rotation at casa de la isaacs here in Vegas. And if you haven't picked up El Durado by James Wilsey yet, you should be ashamed of yourself! Johnny Isaacs

I just got the James Wilsey CD from my local record store today (props to Love Garden Sounds). Wow. Best new CD I've gotten this year. Best instrumental CD I've heard since Richard Bennett's "Themes for a Rainy Decade."
You knocked it out of the park, Sr. Wilsey! |

Is this the same Jesse Harris that has been on Nora Jones's CD and Rebecca Martin along with much of his own stuff?
If so - He's a great Acoustic player too. Thanks for the heads up - I've got to check this CD out.
