'59 truss rod placement

Musikraft seems to propose this option they call custom '59 truss rod placement (high on the heel in the fingerboard; see pic below); there is one on Ebay this day.

Does anyone have more details to tell about this particular placement? Does it have any incidence to the sound?

I believe this was an attempt by Fender to make the Truss adjustable with out removing the neck. Lots of old guards were altered so a screwdriver would just fit in the slots. Haven't ya seen this on old teles and wondered why? Now you know. Nothing to do with the sound as far as I can surmise.
I have this option on one of my Musikraft necks and it serves it's purpose well, for me. {See below}

The 1959 Year was the 1st for Rosewood Fingerboards....and because they were thicker, and how they were attached differently from later years, they call them Slab boards...and as stated above, the access hole was placed higher on the Butt end of the Neck....Great Necks btw.
