Differences in CIJ and US 52 re-issues
Does anyone have an idea of the differences between the US and CIJ 52 re-issue teles?

BarryH, there's tons of detail in the forum archives on this very subject if you try a few searches.
I'm no expert, but it is my general impression that there are two series of US '52 RI, early and late, with some technical differences, and the MIJ/CIJ also started around 1982. Early MIJ can have a "JV" serial number on the bridge, and components that are, IMO, very close but not exactly the same as US parts. |

Everything is differnet.
They might look the same but all the parts are different. The Japanese ones use Sen or Basswood for their body woods depending on the model and year the USA ones use ASH. The Japanese ones are all poly the USA ones are poly undercoatsd and nitro on top except the thinskins which are all nitro.
