I'm guessing that the lead guy's playing the Strat, Tele's got the rhythm. So often, that seems to be the way gear choices get made- not to imply there aren't great lead guys who play Teles, but I think overall the numbers would bear me out on that point.
Me, I like them both. Does that make me BiFender?

I have a few Strats too, but the only ones with me at school are a frankenstrat I built with a banged up plywood body, a Squier Bullet neck, and guts from various other guitars (it still sounds and plays good though!) and a late 80's MIJ Strat XII 12-string. |

Look at the wear pattern on the Tele's neck.
I'd say he's mostly string bending and vib on the d-g-b strings plus there's most wear at 3rd, 5th and 7th and not much beyond the 12th fret. Gotta be a rythmn player with a few fills here and there. |

Andrew, I'm sure you're a cool guy and all but I HATE you. I want to see these guys soooooo bad. They came to Birmingham during last summer I think and I had a test the next day and it's an hour drive away so I had to miss it. Doesn't the lead player (David Abeyta) usually play a tele anyways?

David plays a tele a LOT actually. His looks like it's just a '52RI. I would say it's about 60/40 strat vs tele. Great live band. Catch them ANY chance you get. |
