binding/finish

I'm planning my first build, so I have been doing tons of research so I can go into this knowing exactly what I want. One question I haven't been able to answer is: If I get an unfinished swamp ash body with black binding, will the binding look bad unfinished? If this is true my plan is to paint a matte black "binding" around the side edges of the body instead. Thanks! I will probably order the body from either Warmoth or USACG, then do an oil finish on it. Tung oil maybe.
