Trying to build a Paisley style tele. Need help.

Hi.
This is the first time im trying to build my own guitar and was looking for some help. My main question is when i have sanded the body back and am ready to put the design on (i am getting paisley style fabric or maybe paper depending on which is better) how do i stick the paper down and what do i put over it to get the high sheen solid finish?

Please any help i would appreciate.

Decopupage the paper on the body with white glue, then cover it with multiple clear coats of choice, sand and polish.

Go look at projectguitar.com there's a ibanez jem or something similar that had a fabric applied to it.There is a few people here who did what your asking about and they camee out real nice.I'm sure one of them will happen on this.
