My First Post
Greetings all
This is my first post. I've been a "lurker" here for some time and enjoy reading and learning. Thought it was time to join in and introduce my Tele. It is a 1969 that I rescued from a music store in Tulsa OK in 1979. Someone had totally desecrated her with a cheap paint brush and can of black enamel. Not fully appreciating what I had at the time, nor being familiar with the fine art of restoration I stripped it down to bare wood, put a coat of clear varnish on the body and tung oil on the back side of the neck. Around 1995 I put in a S. D. Jerry Donahue in the bridge, and Vintage in the neck position. I’m still in possession of the originals. I'm not a professional musician but do enjoy playing and do appreciate the finer instruments. I’m mostly into the older stuff – country, blues, & rock. And more recently the older country gospel. Here are some photos of what my wife calls “my baby”. I'm really not interested in selling but would much appreciate some opinions on approximate fair market value because I haven’t got a clue. (Hope the photos turn out. I'm photographically challenged )Thanks larryg |

I rescued a Vox Super Lynx from a similar fate, also in a Tulsa guitar store, also in 1979! Unfortunately, there's no happy ending for the Vox. I played it for a few years, then stored it (disassembled and boxed) at a friend's house while moving. His psycho girlfriend decided to "get rid of all this junk." Yup. For some reason I still have the trem, bridge, and one (?) pickup. Glad to see your story came out better.
