Insane Wiring Mod?

I've got a HH tele with 3-way swtich and a push-pull that splits the the buckers. I'm going to replace the pots and switches and thought that while I was doing it I'd add a second P/P switch for series/parallel.

Is this something you would do? And if so where might I find a wiring diagram? I checked the Seymour Duncan site, but didn't quite find what I was looking for. I also did a search here, but missed it if this topic has been covered.

not sure. I read on the SD site that splitting the humbucker and parallel wiring sounds almost the same. the parallel wiring is of course noiceless.

Wire it to a temporary switch or just twist wires together to see if you like it. Then you'll know if it's worth putting in a switch.

And yes, the coil tap and parallel sound very similar. On the pickup I tried it on. YMMV.

Thanks for these responses. Given what has been said about splitting the coil sounding similar to parallel, I think I'll keep it to a simple coil split.

here's an option (for 2 switches)... why not a switch for each pickup? that way you can combine a humbucker and a single coil... to create some beastly sound, I suppose.
