Could someone tell me what a Partscaster is?

I may be totally off base here, but I believe that a parts caster is a tele- that you order the different pieces from different places such as:

a Fender body
a StewMac neck
Seymour Duncan Pickups
Allparts hardware
etc. etc.

If I am wrong, then one of this forums many many experts will swoop in to correct my mistake...maybe even OleFuzzy!

exactly a partscaster i a tele homemade from tele parts
it can be custom made by companies that make necks and bodies

or from fender or other companies that have been taken apart

i have a 52 based partscaster a allparts neck a guitarmill body
reissued tuners and hardware glendale bridge franlin pups

cloth wires and a paperand oil cap etc etc

there are tons of them put together my forum members here

you can put one together low cost or go all the way its up to you

At this point any assemblage of guitar parts with no clear primary identity of origin with a manufacturer of record, even a Strat, Jagstang, any Heinz 57 thing can still be a partscaster. I don't think it has to be a Tele design.

I think an Am Se Tele with an aftermarket neck is still an Am Se Tele. But if the bridge, the tuners, the pickups and the electrics are also from somewhere else, eventually it is a Partscaster.

It just so happens that Teles make the best Partscasters, but you can make a Strat style Partscaster, too, IMO.
