James Burton

Anyone here using the James Burton string gauges?
From his website:

Quote:
When James started out, he replaced his strings with banjo strings because they didn't make the strings he wanted for guitar players. He was the first to do so. Until this day, James uses these unusual gauges: .009, .010, .012, .024, .032 and .038.
Has anyone here ever tried these? Sounds awful light, but it may explain some of his fast licks and why his quick bends "get there" in rapid succession.

Has he ever been on this forum?

I use them on most of my teles..

Musiciansfriend has a discount on individual string gauges. So, I purchased the JB gauges in sets of 10. They take some getting used to, and yes they are light, but you can bend the heck out of them the JB does. I like them.
