Last build thread for a while,I promise
Not sure if you guys remember,or care, but a while ago I posted that I am starting a guitar that is not for me or my family,an actual order
Got some progress on it.Taking it slow on this one, want to do a extra good job The guy decided to use the "mystery wood" that was suppose to be alder, with a birdseye maple top I got the body routed out,and the top glued up and on and now have the binding finished On this one I did a 5 layer laminated binding on the top b/w/b/w/b.Turned out pretty good but what a pain in the a$$ to do.If I do any more like this I will be getting or building a binding laminater ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wow!
You are going ape-wild on the binding. Looking good! Looking good! You know, I hope, that many of those old archtops, like Strombergs and D'Angelicas had as many as 9 layers of binding! Wouldn't that be fun!?

Like I said 5 was a real pain.I think it was worth it and I am finally getting my finger tips back. There was a couple times I thought I was going to be wearing binding to work

That top is gorgeous, don't think I've ever seen birdseye maple used for anything but necks. ANOTHER awesome looking body from you but have you finished any of your builds yet? I wanna see the red one with black sides when it's finished, that thing is sexy.

"Last build thread for a while,I promise"
Martyb1, that heading is the saddest thing I've read on TDPRI since Old Fuzzy left.
Say it isn't true, I love the build threads! That's what keeps me coming back to TDPRI, (well, that and the discussions about pickguard colors!) |

These posts are great, Marty.
Please keep them coming. Believe me, we're reading them and referring back to them over and over. It just gets awkward leaving a comment every single time one reads the build thread. Same thing goes for you, Jack and Bucko. We are watching, it just gets goofy posting 'yum yum yum' everytime we're salivating over the projects.
