Hi, I'm new -- here's my tele
Hi Everyone,
been lurking here for a while as I built the tele below. I've found a ton of great information, so I figured I might try to contribute something :) Anyway, I'm in the process of building another tele (how addicitive!) that's gonna be a sonic blue, traditional SS model -- kinman pickups on the way! Nice to meet all of you.

Welcome
Nice guitar and nice picture. Now how about a few more details? Specs?Sources? How did you tint the pick guard and what or who was your inspiration for this guitar with a relief cut in the body?
Inquiring minds want to know. L_N_A

Here's some specs --
So, the whole thing started out as a pretty inexpensive squier tele. I stripped the finish off the whole thing -- really a nightmare I've always wanted a Daphne Blue guitar, so that was my initial inspiration. I have a buddy who works for a place that handles a lot of vintage guitars, so I wanted to make it a relic of some sort. The pickguard is a mint green fender, wet sanded to 1500, 2000 grit and then steel wooled with #0000. After that I added a little Minwax "Golden Oak" for some dirt build up. Not sure what you mean about the "relief cut"? You mean the arm wear? Thanks for all the compliments! |
