Interesting Topic On The Hamer Board...

... concerning the Hamer T-51, their version of a Telecaster.

http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/i...howtopic=24310

The guys over there are pretty loose & cool. I thought it was interesting, and figured the "Tele Elite" might enjoy reading what they think about the guitar we know & love.

Interesting. Funny how they're all so hesitant to give Fender any props. Peer pressure's a funny thing, even on the internet.

Sounds like a bunch of open minded, knowledgeable guys.

Doesn't make me want to buy a T-51 and drop all my other Teles, but the right Hamer would be welcome in my abode.

Yes it is. Take a look at us sometime. Particularly interesting is the American Standard issue and how much peer pressure there is there, or the non-tele shaped tele.

That Talladega sure is a beautiful...

... guitar! It's so fancy it's almost the opposite of the original Tele concept! I have a Monaco Superpro with a beautiful maple top like that one. I feel as though I should polish it every time I play it, and I'd never leave it out. My USACG partscaster, on the other hand, sits on its stand, plugged into my tweed Vibrolux, waiting patiently to be played! Not better, just different. I'd consider myself blessed to have either, doubly so to have both!

I had a T-51 for a few months. I HATED the neck...it had the profile of an 80's shredder guitar, too wide and flat. The overall guitar was nice, but the previous owner did perform a few improvements, like pulling off that heavy non-tele like bridge and putting on a fender ashtray and 3 brass saddles. Overall, it had tele like tones, but it wasn't a telecaster.
