Fair Price?
Played this the other day:
http://www.therockinn.com/inventory....D=1&Inv_ID=513 Undoubtedly the finest tele I've ever played. Just wondering what people think of the asking price (approx $4500 US) I have been thinking about collecting as a serious investment for some time and thought this would be a pretty safe bet? |

Certainly a cool guitar with an interesting pedigree. $4500.00 for a 75 seems high to me, but then I used to think $4500.00 was to high for the PreCBS Esquires.
Now a days I kick myself for passing up on some of those. My take...if it really "speaks" to you as an instrument, and you have the scratch to do it, go for it. You could probably find a nice mid seventies for less money if you looked hard enough, but this one sure has some history to it. That advice and four dollars will get ya a starbucks.

Unless you place great value on the signature, or this is an almighty player (that you really intend to play) I reckon this is far too much for an investment guitar.
I'm basing this on UK prices, and knowing that $ prices are less, but I wouldn't have thought any more than $3000 equivalent was remotely sensible. |
