I got a new, old american series tele
Being pretty stuborn and resistant to change, I decided to get a 2007 model american tele before they were all gone. I spent a bunch of time searchin the web and making calls before I landed one this from Pittsburgh Guitars (whom I might mention were top notch to deal with). She's beautiful, sounds great and has a really good neck and fret work. I'm a happy camper for sure!

Nice. I hope you enjoy it. Last time I was at GC they had moved out all of the 2007 AmSe already. I assume they had a clearance sale on them after Christmas.
Did it come stock with the black guard? |

Thanks! The black pickguard is stock. There's only like 3 authorized Fender dealers in my state and I'm lucky if there's a handfull of different teles between em all to check out...nevermind american series.
Theres a GC about 30 miles away over the state line, but I've never been there despite hearin bout all the great deals. |

to me, that is the classiest looking stock tele ever shipped... The vintage white is amazingly cool...
I have a 2006 vintage white American tele that the truss rod popped loose inside the neck... what's crazy is that the truss rod still worked.. it just vibrated when you'd hit harmonics.. or certain notes... anyways... slapped a warmoth neck on it... couldn't be happier... btw... Congrats on the purchase.... I LOVE that guitar.. ;) (throw a glendale/callaham bridge and compensated saddles on there and you'll be in vintage tele action heaven)... :)

If I could just get myself to leave them alone and stop modding on them so much.
Here's one of 3 American Series 60th Anniversary 'cubic zirconium' Teles I got for way less than current price, in November. I've changed the tuners and jack cups on all of them, some have different bridges, different pickups, different pickguards. ![]() Sometimes it is better to pay full price and not have 'permission' to tamper, although these mods can sound great. For another view of the 'vintage white' Am Se color, check out timmer's recent post. Bubbanov |
