Arlo, I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to finally meet you, bud. You are every bit the funny, good-natured, and kind gentleman I had suspected all along.

I hope we can hang out again sometime when I'm not having to get Jimmy out of his cage to perform and then put him back in it when he's finished.

I wish I could've met a lot more of the TDPers who were in Anaheim last weekend!

Joel

Great shots. I LOVED seeing my old Twin at Bill's booth, although he told me the reverb died.

Arlo great pics!

Loved seeing Don, Jason and Bill together.

I wouldn't have left the Shadowsky booth as long as Tal was there

Looks like an overwhelmingly good time.

Thanks for that Arlo. 355 pictures ........... almost felt like I was there............ without the sounds.

You showed one shot of some old Gibson lap steels. Were they just on display or are they bringing them back?

That's ALOT of pictures. Just watched the whole slide-show.

Looks like you had a great time, lots of cool stuff & interesting folks. Pretty wild that Tal, one of the TDPRI's favorites, was right next door.

Glad you got to meet up with so many TDPRI-ers. That venue for the show with Jimmy Wilsey looks like a reclaimed IHOP! I'll bet it was great to hear him in that size room.

Thanks for taking the time to share those!

Great pics (except for the couple of you playing a Strat!). What company produced these beauties? I don't recognize the headstock.

Arlo, a fine set of pics, indeed. Looks like great fun had by all. Old Piney still looked better than a lot of teles I saw. There's just something about the proprietary natural looks of a pine tele. Like they ALL ought to be like that. I ain't knocking all those fine looking new guitars, but........ make mine PINE!(and tele).
I can't believe you touched a Strat.
Thanx for sharing all those pics. I almost felt like I got to go.
Michael

Glad you all liked em! I was a picture taking fool and tried to hop out as much as possible.

Reality is this is about one percent of the exhibits!! Over 8000 from what I could see. It is a crazy place and just ask Ron Garson how his feet feel!

Same for me Ron. I walked a million miles it feels like. Probably good cause it worked off all the beer and JD!

Joel it was a pleasure to meet you as well. I am sure we will all hang out again as soon as Jimmy becomes a HUGE star and hires us all to be his twang mafia so we can go to his concerts with him! Right Jimmy?

Mark, Andy, John, Steve, Ron, Mr. Gomez, Rodger, Bill, Becky and all of the other TDPRI members that I met it was a pleasure!!

Jellecaster - interesting that you should bring up that photo. That was Chiou Hahn's booth. You might recall he was the guy trying to straighten out Danny's order with the boutique dealer. I forget the name of the company but the guys name was Jay. He had essentially taking Dan's money and never gave him a guitar. I spoke with Chiou about this and he said that he personally took care of Danny by making him a Tele. I hope that is all true as Mr. Hahn seemed like a very thoughtful and caring individual who felt terrible about the situation.
I would add he is no longer associated with Jay in any way.

Hahn's guitars are exquisite and they look and sound Sweet.

Photoweborama (Mark) Glitch has been fixed thanks for the heads up.

Maybe I will see you all next year or in Nashville in 6 months?

Jwells the Gibson lap steel was a display only I believe. They sure looked cool so I had to snap a shot of them.

I L O V E that finish!! You can be assured I will be making Tele's this spring with the violin finish in a satin sheen. I think that is gorgeous as all get out!

Couldn't stop taking pics of them.

The Dean guitars with the do not touch sign belonged to Paul Stanley of Kiss I think.

Jaydawg and Broadmaster I have to admit seeing the legendary man himself playing Ol Piney nearly brought a tear to my eye's.

I was like a proud parent at a school recital.

Bill is one of the best guitarists I have ever heard play. His style and use of notes is something I can only hope to emulate in a small way.

He knows his way around a guitar and can play classical pieces like Bach and Mozart without any effort.

He is a hero to me and I am proud to say I know him.

She sure did play live right next to Bill's booth. The pics were taken while I was looking over the barrier. She is remarkable.

There was funny moment where I saw her look at Bill's daughter. It was almost like she wanted to just be a kid and hang out with another girl. It must be a little strange to be so well known by so many guitar guys and just simply want to be a kid and hang out like girl's do. Made me think for a minute how odd that must be for her in some ways.

I saw many young kids there who were really good players.

Ya Tal has gigged with Chick Corea The Allmans Jeff Beck and many more for only playing BASS for 4 years its remarkable she is THAT good.

You just dont jump up on stage and jam with Chick Corea unless you REALLY know your stuff.

Well... you could jump up there if you didn't know your stuff..... but it would probably be the most painful musical experience one could possibly imagine...

he would rip you a new string ferrule....

then the crowd would probably pummel you....... If you made it out alive, there'd be a youtube video quickly spread around the world... you'd never get a paying gig again... all because you thought to yourself...

"I can play with this guy... after all.. he's only a keyboard player... "
