From this angle, those Esquires look they they only have binding on the top(?) If they were doublebound....very nice. Fiesta Red and Shoreline Gold, especially.

I know these are high dollar Custom Shop guitars, but I wonder if there is a market for American Vintage Esquires....both 52 and 62 models. It would be pretty simple do do, right? Wiring, guards, and decals is all it would take....
Buy them all, and stick neck pickups in them.

Here's waht I don't like about new guitar relics. a) Most of the time they look fake and b) they cut corners on the finish/build quality since it's easy to disguise it when it's relic's. What I mean is...if you buy a brand new non-relic guitar the fit and finish has to be first rate...theres no hiding it. When I picked up a reliced Nocaster in GC once I could see where that was not the case....Just an observation.

I agree, absolutely. The fit and finish on my CS NOS Nocaster is better than any of the seven or eight heavy relic or closet classic versions of that same guitar. However, two were wonderfully light, and one of those and another heavier one were beautiful sounding and playing guitars.

I'm accumulating lil scuffs and small dents in a number of the guitars I am putting together. I don't aim to have any relics, but it takes the pressure off once there's a little wear and tear, I think.
