1981 monaco yellow tele
these aren't too common so i figured i'd post a few pics of my international series tele. it's extremely heavy but it's also smoothest, easiest tele i've ever played. just wanted to share the love. i bought it from a guy named larry c here in jersey back in 1986. (not the guy here on tdpri. at least i don't think) anybody else have an international series??? i'd love to see pics.

Got to like that yellow!
Got to like that orange! Why aren't they available today. Does the world really need yet another version of Sage Green Metallic?

Ah, the International colors:
Arctic White, Morocco Red, Maui Blue, Monaco Yellow, Capri Orange, Sahara Taupe, and Cathay Ebony. One sees so few of them I suspect that they were subject to refinishing in more traditional colors. Wasn't that also the era of the Strats with the funny small headstocks? |

I don't understand it myself? The international series of colours are fantastic and yet you never see them on new models?ARE YOU LISTENING FENDER??? I think this picture comes from the 50 years of Fender book? ![]() I'm not big on Strats, but the Capri Orange and Monaco Yellow on a Strat looks outstanding?

Always liked those-especially the yellow and orange. They pop up on fleabay from time to time, but you see more of the Sahara Taupe, which is to me, the least attractive. IIRC, Fender Japan reissued a Tele in the orange finish recently.

I'm a sucker for a Yellow tele, looks great!
I guess I should be ashamed to admit this but on my bench right now is a Strat (don't we all need one of these?) body being gain filled, it WILL be Gretsch Orange. Here's a mock up I did yesterday. I still don't think a Strat needs more than two knobs,...

This is a great look, gtrman. Better than the int'l. I'm not sure about most of these powerful primary colors on an organic shape like a Tele, but I love the neck to headstock contour, that's just great, everything about the maple neck there. I just have this image of playing one of these and getting lots of funny looks. Wrong brand of music, I suppose. Bubbanov |

International Colors
I've always loved the International color series and the Capri Orange was the basis of design, color-wise, for "The Beachcaster". Working closely with Rich Rice on the color, Rich came up with a variation of the Capri Orange that we called "Dreamsicle". The pictures really don't do the color justice as the color is remarkable in the sunlight. Needless to say, The Beachcaster gets more compliments than my playing does
