60th anniversary tele, standard and limited edition

I have both of these guitars and love them both.
I would love to hear other people's comparisons on these 2 models.

I really don't appreciate the electronics setup on the ltd, though.
I understand the theory behind it, but I don't dig that flat neck pup thang at all.
I'm going to change that and I would like your recommendations on what you think would be the best way to go.

I bought the Limited edition. Saw it on Elderly's website. I really liked the grain pattern. I called and made sure I was getting the one pictured. To be honest, I've never even tuned it up.

I just got this one yesterday...the previous owner modded the wiring slightly...changed out a capicitor or something...I'll get the details and get back to you , it sounds like the info you need. He even sent along a wiring schematic
explaining the mod.

Jack, you really gotta put some 11-49s on her and crank her up. Wonderful guitar, essentially a clear finish AV 52 with Nocaster pickups and a drug dealer/ pimp silver tolex case, burgundy boudoir lining.

I'm just putting strings and sometimes knurled knobs on 'em. I may convert a few to a low value cap for position # 3 and convert the tone knob into a neck pup blend like the Nocaster.

I like the Am Se 60th Cubic Zirc, too, just not as much. Neck's too thin, the OV pickups are nice but the bridge and saddles and tuners all benefit from upgrade. Basically a rosewood board Am Se with AV52 pickups, alder sunburst body finish, lil gemstone in the headstock.

Here's a 60th Cubic Zirconium with an aftermarket modded bridge plate and brass barrel saddles. Note the string through locations, above and closer together than on a Highway One.

Great description of the case, BB! I'd thought that it was supposed to evoke the blackface amps or something, but I might prefer your take on it.

That makes sense, use the blender rather then adjusting tone. How well does that work out, like on the nocaster. Also, whats the purpose of the lower value cap on 3?

Above is the recipe for the 'dark' position mod. One would simply govern the neck pup ala this Esquire recipe instead of the bridge (only) pup.

Best way to discover if the blend knob works for you is go play a Nocaster at the guitar store that has one. I like the effect I can get on my CS NOS Nocaster, and remember, the pickups are the same or are supposed to be the same on the AV52 'FSR' 60th Anniversary 'Inlay' Limited Edition when does the name end Tele.

I find playing the CS Nocaster that the blend is the only control I use; I'm basically on position #1 all the time, and I 'roll off' by bleeding the neck pup in. Mostly I'm running just the bridge, I guess that's my M.O.

OK, let me see if I have this right. We are talking about using a .010 cap to lighten up the neck pickup. Then you are using a blender pot to blend in the neck, rather then using the existingpot for tone?
Also do you have a wiring diagram cause the one I found, I can't see to load, a part of the diagram is cut off.

I have not gathered up the diagrams yet. I'm hoping between Seymour Duncan, Rothstein and this site, I can reconstruct what I'm doing. I've gotta bunch of bodies and necks to finish first while the weather is right. Sorry.
