Interactive Fender Bible

Who has bought a copy of the Interactive Fender Bible? It's a fairly interesting list of details but rather weak on precise specs, which is a shame since it could have been improved easily.

A few Tele-related thing that disappoint me:

* The cover proclaims that the book contains "every Fender guitar and amp ever made--listed, described, and explored in detail." However, there is no listing for the 60th Anniversary limited edition Telecaster.

* The Vintage Hot Rod '52 Tele is described only as "similar to American Vintage '52 Telecaster" except for the electronics.

* The AV '52 Telecaster is described simply as a "replica of 1952 original" with a cross-reference to the Tele's 1951 listing. From what I could tell, there is no indication of the vintage reissues prior to 1998, let alone the ditinctions throughout the 1950s.

To give the authors and publishers credit, though, they include mailing and email addresses so that people like us can send details for a possible updated edition. Of course, they could have saved themselves some trouble and checked here a while back!

Other opinions on this book and DVD?

I had a look at this in our local bookshop last weekend and was not impressed. Seemed light on a lot of detail.

Didn't feel at all moved to buy it, and indeed felt unsure what its attraction would be.

Don't buy it for the book, buy it for the DVD. You see some great guitars, tho' there are too many Strats! Some terrific playing, too.

The book could stand better detail, it's not a total dud but not the best.
The DVD is enjoyable. Quite the collection of fender guitars and amps they are playing.
