Who built this?

So I found a random pic whilst googlin Tele's...of the Meloncaster, and like a bad TPDRIer I managed to miss this thread. I wanna see more of this! I still don't know what to think of it, but man I kinda think its pretty groovy.

Thanks.

That's one of mine.

Covered in this thread.

It turned out pretty good.

Them's Ole Fuzzy SHIMSTOCKS!

Was getting buzzes one night. Didn't have the little dinky allen wrench I needed. The pennies, that I borrowed from the bass player...because I would never carry loose change on stage with me, were expedient, didn't seem to hurt the sound, and ARE STILL THERE.

Somebody noticed them just the other night.

Poor old Dale will be cryin' into a beer at the very sight of those coins under his saddles....

Along the Mississippi at L&D #10.

About as far from SD as a person can get in Our Fair State.

Where do you get that metal flake, and how hard is it to spray? Also tell me more about the binding on there? Did you have to route it out to put it in there? I'm just continuing rethinking my esquire build before the kit comes in the mail. And I just watched my Dwight Yoakam DVD and saw Buck's silver glitter deluxe and started to salivate a bit.

Should be able to get the Flake in most auto parts stores. I think there are a couple House of Kolor dealers here in Sioux Falls.

This tells all about putting the green one together:

The Emeraldcaster

It's a lot of fun...but (at least the way I do it) very time consuming. I cut out the body in July and just strung it up last weekend.

The flake I used came from Meadowbrook Inventions. They probably supply most outfits in the country. I am sure the House of Kolor stuff would work just fine. It is just not available in my little corner of Iowa. As a result I tend to improvise A LOT!

Funny thing- I was in Michael's Crafts (don't ask why) and surprised to see they have a pretty decent selection of "flake" in different sizes and colors. If you have one near you they might be a good local source.

They also have a good selection of aerosol lacquers in some different and interesting colors. I think it's a house brand called "Craft Design?" or something like that. How do I know it's lacquer? I pulled the cap and shot a little on my finger- then sniffed!

Look under Glitter Products and then Polyester Jewels. I think that is the stuff. You may have to scroll down on the page to get a VIEW button.

Neat stuff.
