Jack, everybody forgot that one right after I built it.
Given your expertise and your tools, I have no doubt yours will be one of the most interesting and memorable teles I've seen. Looking forward to it. I thought that Feathercaster was one of the most interesting and unique teles I've seen built too, although I don't think I ever saw the finished guitar. With everybody and his brother building a tele these days, it's a little hard to get excited by another conventional tele. I really only look forward to the ones that get a bit creative. It seems all your builds qualify, plus, the build quality always looks outstanding. I believe you are the best builder on this site. I'll be watching this thread with great interest. |

I feel like the Hare from the story with the Tortoise. The Feathercaster's still in pieces.
This anticipation's killing me, Jack!

Thanks for your interest KDAD. Progress is being made but slowly. Each step seems to create more work. I started spraying the color coat yesterday and discovered several areas that needed some spot putty attention. Hopefully I'll finish the color and start clearcoating today.

I posted this picture in Tele-Tech while discussing another matter. Some may not have seen it. Here's my more unique body undergoing some solar lacquer curing. I'm afraid when I post completed pictures, it may be anticlimatic for many of you. You may think to yourselves ...... " Big deal ........ that's not so special."

Any of you starting to think that Mr. Wells is just pulling our chains? That maybe, just maybe, there is no super-secret tele project - that it's all a hoax? He could be throwing in the "details" to fool us all... 4 lbs. 14 oz.; less time to finish than normal; most unique tele-shaped body in the history of the world; even a picture of what could be any of the many tele bodies he has sitting around his shop in his fancy new body rack...

It's a new ultra-matte finish. Just glued on some of that crazy 40grit sandpaper.
You don't relic the guitar, the guitar relics YOU!

This is the most unique build thread ever, because theres no actual building going on. WHY must you torment us poor souls, why? You know how desperate we are for picture. Once you finally reveal this tele, I may have an anorism.

Jack's taken it down to the local kindergarten where eight, four-year-olds have coated it liberally in PVA and then sprinkled it with sawdust. The front has various pasta shapes glued to it and painted metallic gold.
