Neck Pick-ups. Tele vs. G&L

Anyone have an opinion on the sound of the neck pick-up on a Tele vs. that of a G&L?

Tele pickups are generally....

mellower. Both types of G&L pickups (I own two different models of G&L ASATs) are louder and clearer than regular vintage style Tele pickups.

Put another way....

from my perspective I found the large P90-ish G&L a pretty harsh sound, particularly when using other than clean sounds - they seemed to have bags of output (not always a good thing) and a pretty edgy character.

I greatly prefer the warmer sound of standard (whatever that is!!) Tele pickups.

I've had both a 52RI and an ASAT Classic. Liked both neck pickups. 52RI was more of a classic tele sound, ASAT Classic neck pickup was more like a tele pickup on steriods. Really liked both sounds. Wish I could have a guitar with both neck pickups.
