Partcaster starter, keeper or boat anchor?

Ran across this at Musicland Central, noticed they claim 100% rosewood body. It's $199 (and I think free shipping). Think it's worth a try?

For that kind of money, I'd bet the rosewood is a veneer.

IMHO that's Rosewood veneer or sandwitched. Look at the sides. They're made out of much lighter wood.

Anyway, a solid Rosewood body of this dimension would be not a very wise idea: it would have the weight of an aircraft carrier, I suppose....

It is NOT solid rosewood... It's a Jay Turser... and the grain on the sides does not match the back...

I never thought to check the rest close up - whomever made the truss rod access hole was a pretty good shot with a .38, though. Oh well, decision made (*splash*). Thanks for the help, ya'll!
