Primer or No Primer?

Well after the screwup with the router,and the fix with bondo,I got the binding all on
My question is now that there is bondo on it should I prime it before I paint it.It has been grain filled and sanding sealer has been used(before the bondo patch)I have all the glue sanded off but now I wonder if I should prime it
Any you guys got suggestions?
There is no bondo on the top or back just the edge.You think the paint will cover it?

A bit of primer wouldn't hurt.... the patch will have a different texture than the surrounding area, the primer will even that out.

If you're painting it in a solid color, which I assume you are, primer would be a good idea. In addition to the dissimilar textures that Ronkirn mentioned, the primer will also allow the paint to cover more easily over dissimilarly colored surfaces. In other words, dark and light patches will require different amounts of paint to cover them, and therefore more paint to even out the color finish. The paint will cover much more uniformly over a solid colored primer, and require fewer coats of paint.

Now having said all of that, it was a common Fender practice in the past to take botched sunburst finishes and re-paint them in a solid color...without a primer coat in between. So, it can be done, but if it's my guitar and I'm the one painting it, I'm using primer.
