What's the difference between these two 72 Reissues?

I own a 72 Telecaster Deluxe RI - (Click Here), which I love, but I've been playing a lot of shows lately and I'm realizing it's a pretty heavy guitar. A friend recommended that I sell the Deluxe and try one of the 72' Thinline RI (Click Here), which would be weigh less. I've never played one of the thinlines. Can anyone tell me how different the these two guitar would sound? Does the F-hole make a big difference? Are the pickups the same in both guitars? What about the neck, is there a huge difference between playing with the Strat neck and the Tele neck?

I own the later, in a beautiful natural finish. This is the only guitar I have that is not made in the USA. That said, I LOVE this tele. It's nice and light, slick and fast and the f hole only adds a very nice warm vibe. I get great sounds out of my mesa boogie .22 caliber with this guitar. It is the guitar I have owned the longest of my current collection and I will never sell it. In fact just today I bought another one in Lake Placid Blue (discontinued). I hope this helps.

The Deluxe neck is a 12" radius and the Thinline is either a 7.25 or 9.5 (7.25 I think) so there's a major difference. I believe the PUs are the same.

If you love the Deluxe neck, you'll find the Thinline very different.

The Deluxe was the first electric guitar I've ever had, so I've never really played with any other neck. So the radius of the Thinline neck is smaller, but the actual fretboard is the same size? I assume the smaller neck would make it a little easier to play, as long as the fretboard stays the same, though I'm not sure.

I own the later, so another vote for the Thinline.
confirm what Deearne says, cool guitar, very good sustain and tone.
I also own a B-bender Nashville and a partcaster, both with different attitude.
Just want to add that at present it is the guitar on the stand in my living room that I pick every free minute, because it is a resonant guitar so I can play it unplugged in the apartment where I live, also when I came late at night and I cannot plug it in the amp.

I own a 72 Thinline RI, it's a Sunburst maple neck and fret board. I think it's the lightest guitar I own, but it has a huge sound on the neck pickup and the center position. The neck has what I would call a biting sound not harsh a good lead sound that punches throuh the mix.
I'm sure the Deluxe would have simular sonic qualities, but it will be heavier than a Thinline. Just to add a little more confusion for you there is also the Telecaster Custom 72 RI, solid body that has a single coil in the bridge position. I traded mine for my Thineline. The 72 Thinline RI does have a 7.25" radius.

I own both model Teles and frankly, which ever one you like, you should play.

My suggested solution to the weight issue, if you like your Deluxe, would be to strengthen your back muscles rather than change your guitar.

From the time I tried them out in GC the only difference in sound I noticed was that the thinline had a slightly more acoustic sounding clean sound. I thought the guitars sounded the same with any overdrive added.

Yes, they sound very similar as far as I can recall. I haven't played either of mine for a while though.
