neck wood grain

Hello,
Any wood expert around? I'm aware this may be too anal, but... do you see something wrong with the grain in this neck? Is grain pattern important in necks or is just a cosmetic issue? if it is important, what would make a good neck?
Thanks!

by the way, i would've liked to attach a bigger image but it seems that's the bigger size allowed... however I've seen bigger images attached around here, maybe I just don't know how to upload'em

I wouldn't worry about grain patterns.

A lot of people say that straight grain makes a more stable neck. But I'll admit that I've picked a few necks because of fancy grain. Some of my best necks are pretty boring to look at though.

If you're worried about mineral stains or streaks, they're only cosmetics flaws. They shouldn't effect anything IMO.

I going to guess (I can't see enough) that neck is sorta flat sawn. I prefer a quartersawn neck when I can choose. But I've seen some really scary figure in some of these Squier 51 necks, and as they cost so little, I took a chance on a lot of them and found that not only did the neck not twist or break, it actually was as good or better than its sisters played back to back with good nuts, tuners and saddles.

I'm sure you'll be fine,

hey, thanks for your input! I'm also more inclined to think it's not that important. This is a Muddy Waters neck. Thing is the neck of my other tele (90's mexican standard) looks more "clean" so to speak. The pattern is more even/straight lenghtways, not so random as the Muddy's.

As the previous pic is not so clear, here's another one signalling these random forms. Are they mineral stains, streaks, both...?

The wood grain on this neck doesn't seem unusual to me (I like it, actually). I'm quite sure it has zero effect on the playing.
So, enjoy this MW tele!
regards
