It's not a good place to rest your feet if you don't want to buy a Tele.

Owning a Tele will automatically give you the ability to play things like this:

There's a pretty decent selection of Fender and Squire teles at either of the Guitar Centers near you, Winter Park or southern side Orlando. I actually like the Lakeland GC a lot.

Your timing may be just right. I've benefited (my credit card has not) from a deal that's been cut between Fender and the owners of Guitar Center where they've dramatically re-set the dealer cost on, I understand, all US made Fender guitars entered into GC's system before about August, 2006, including for example a 2005-6 Highway One Tele for $ 388. Not a bad deal if you like big frets.

Welcome, and remember the Telecaster is the primordial ooze from which all electric guitars emanate, and their sound is an integral part of your DNA, and so it is futile to resist.

By the way let us know which real guitar shop in Orlando you like.

If you like Carl Eller.
If you like Jim Marshall.
If You like Jeff Siemens.
If You like Joe Kapp.
If you dig the sound of a bass thumpin' ones and fives and straight 8's and swingin' the night away.
If you think Bud Grant had soul.
If you dig Gene Washington almost as much as George.

then you need a purple tele

welcome.

Hey,how you doin'?
Welcome to our little part of the world.
Plenty of good folks here.

Buy yourself a Tele, you'll be glad you did.
Teles are simple yet amazing and versatile tone machines.
Teles are an honest guitar.

I think you should probably ease into the Tele habit - why not buy a Tele bass as a starter?

One you are used to the headstock design, it is only a short skip and a jump to the slabboard body and heavenly twang....

Just beware - I thought this was a great place to rest my feet a bit... when I first visited TDPRI, I owned two Teles.... now I own over thirty! Not everyone is as obsessive as I am, but it can be dangerous!

Welcome.
