Anyone Ever Seen a Turquoise Tele with a Black Pickguard?

My original plan was to re-spray my Mexican Turquoise and get a black pickguard - the combo just looked really cool. Just wondering if anyone's ever seen that combo before on any style of telecaster. I googled on the net but found nothing, so I'd think if I did do that I'd have a pretty unique (of course I'm sure there are some) axe. If I was a rightie I'd have bought a '62 Re-issue in teal/turquoise, but I think my 52 looks very attractive as well.

This might give you some idea of that combination.

^ Wow, what a coincidence, a Valvetronix...I have an AD100VT myself, great amps especially for the price. That's exactly the combo I envisaged. And nice photoshop job there jwells, I would love to see something like that in real life. I don't know what the attraction is, but I find that combo strikingly beautiful and original.

I've been thinking that this would be $109 well spent. Not a Tele, an SX STL:

It's a nice combination that I wouldn't have thought of. Lilhatchett's avatar looks great & I too was a Vox Valvetronic user for a while.

Krylon used to make a nice turquoise. The name was actually Teal. However they discontinued it a couple of years ago. It was just about the color I Photoshoped above. It might be possible to find some old stock in a hardware store somewhere.

Turquoise is a lot like the color 'Belair Green' from the G + L catalogue.

I like the teal color of that SX guitar, it'd be even better semi-transparent.

Re

In the not too distant future I'm considering building my own 'Partscaster' as you call it. It shouldn't be too hard, I imagine...how do you usually paint your partcaster's (or whatever you call them)? Just with ordinary spray-paint? I guess I could then get the finish professionally done. I've always wanted a guitar that was truly 'me' and it building a guitar sounds like a really fun project.
