Someone's been keepin' that one in a vault, eh? A beauty. I'm jealous, mine didn't come with a case. (And I been lustin' after that tooled leather case since they came out. Any pics handy of the axe in the case?) Congratulations!

Oh yes, memories....
I had one of those too, back in 1991. I remember this axe havin' the best neck I played in my whole life. I didn't like the pickups tho, and I changed them. Can't remember what I put in. But what I remember is that the gold is VERY weak, it flaked off very fast (saddles, knobs). Sold this machine because I needed some money for another guitar (as always)... still regrettin' it... sigh.... Cheers! PS: mine came in a standard tweed case.

I always loved the looks of that model and must've played the one a local Fender dealer had back in the early-mid 90's nearly once a week for months. I never could get into it playability or tone wise, but I dug the look of it and that's what really matters, right?

I'm tellin' ya, you swap that red bridge-bucker out for the middle silver unit, you'll have twang to spare (p'raps I'll get it together to post a soundfile or two). I will agree with EunosFD that the paint is awful thick on the body (to the point of obscuring the flat bit for the output jack). My neck looks to be about forty years old and the body is still glossy as a plate-glass window, for the most part ('cept for dents and dings here and there). I'd like to know a bit more about the whole silk-screen deal with the paisleys, clear coats etc. It does hold up over the years.
