My father was an "Olds" man.

Besides, the way our local wrecking yard is laid out, you get to the "O"s before the "S"s (as in Satellite.)

Rosewood would probably look great on the Emeraldcaster. I'll have to see what I can come up with.

Great job Mr. Buckocaster.
Good job on the pictures too. There's no bright white flash lighting, I have a hard time taking pictures of stuff inside at night. Anything that I want to sell on ebay, I always take the pictures in day light.

Have you thought about a coppersparklecaster? Not that you need any suggestions of course. I think the fender copper teles are pretty nice looking and a coppersparkle tele with checkerboard binding would be something to see.

I've got a thing for copper as well, but that never crossed my mind. I bet it would look pretty amazing!

It's easy for you guys to sit back there and keep giving me ideas.

You don't have to work with the stuff!

Keep 'em coming though. Copper could look really good.

So today the KRYLON is pretty much dry.

The tape is off.

It's time to take a good look at what we have.

Masking that 0.060" binding on the back was difficult. Didn't get the best edge.

But that should be okay.

We'll scrape the high edges of the paint off and clean up the green/binding line with the edge of a utility knife blade.

I'm just dragging the edge of the blade over the high stuff.

We'll do the same on the top.

Over the weekend I hope I can get the binding remasked and get a coat or two or three of the emerald sparkle on the beast! Football Friday and band stuff on Saturday and Sunday...hope I can get it fit in.

Thanks Steve.

Ed, you deserve to take it easy for a bit.

I just got home from a football game. Don't see myself doing too much work tonight.

I really want to get some sparkles on here this weekend...

hey buck, as another poster put it, that binding is magic. When you start spraying sparkles can you be specific about the quantities of lacquer/thinner/sparkles? While the my first project is drying I have a mini strat and mini tele project in the works and will be attempting a purple sparkle on the strat.

Thanks for showing us the way, again, never get tired of it.

Hey!

Today we put some sparkles on!

Trouble is...they're still in the little plastic bag they were shipped in!

Looks like I picked the right color for the base.

Kids...crunch time is here...I need to decide which neck to paint the headstock on.

All of the other Sparklecasters have maple boards.

I'm still partial to maple.

What do you all think?

This week the first sparkles go on.

Really.

I promise!

Do you have a group photo of all your guitars you've built? I always enjoy your build threads. Hell, I enjoy any build thread.

I'm with you BarnesTO,

the sparkles and rw would look classy... maple will look fine, but a little 'kiddy'... like a toy.

I've got to vote for the rosewood with the green. I imagine that rosewood would look even better with the green sparkle headstock.

But, if you want it to match the other maple-necked sparklecasters....
