new pine tele

this is my first post thought I would say hi and tell you all about a new tele Im building, My background is country gospel. Played with the voices triumphant of the happy goodman family hour and the perrys sisters for years.

Im starting off with a pine body with a tummy tuck and contoured fore arm The wood has some knots in it. Im just going to dye it a little darker and put a danish oil finish. Im using a leather pick guard. Don Mear bridge and middle pickups and a tv jones in the neck. A birseye flame combination neck from warmoth with a rosewood board and a vintage tint finish. It is a boatneck with a soft v. Kluson tuners. A cold rolled bridge from Glendale and his brass saddles. Ill post some pictures when I done

Nope Jeff, wasn't me. I've never worked at any church outside of Michigan. Hopefully we'll meet sometime this side of heaven! Next time I get down there, I'll look you up. I still have family there.

Peace!

Wow! That's extra special!!!

Didn't think knots in Tele bodies were a good idea until this very moment! They're in perfect placement on the body!
You're gonna have alot of people drooling here, that's for sure! That's gorgeous!

Welcome and congratulations!

One of the things that appealed to me about a pine body was that it is rustic and since I wasnt going to finish it I thought the knots would look good. I debated a long time and Im glad I went that way. IM totally happy

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see in the future lots and lots of rustic pine Tele Body builds, with nice pickups but otherwise no frills.

The body turned out great, congrats.

One of the most beautiful teles I know has a few knots:

This one was made from some super dried 180 years-old pine from some old barn. More pictures in this link.

Jeff, yours looks very good! I'm in the process of creating some pine based tele as well... and considering using oil as a finish. Judging from your pics, that would be a good idea!
