Show us your Japanese Teles - all of them!

OK you MIJ and CIJ freaks out there. I've been searching back through the old threads and wasn't able to find a photo based thread dedicated to the incredible variety of MIJ or CIJ teles there are out there.

So here's the idea. In this thread, why don't we try to post all the various types of MIJ and CIJ teles, without doubling up if at all possible, and see how many different kinds there are!

Here's an example. If someone has posted a photo of say, a MIJ Pink Paisley, it's OK to post a CIJ Pink Paisley but not another MIJ Pink Paisley. Once we have one of each, no more Pink Paisleys should be posted if at all possible...

Also, how about keeping a running count of the models, so we can see how many types there are?

Sound like fun? OK, lets see how far we can make this thread go you Tele freaks.... I'll start!

CIJ SPL 3 Pickup Thinline Tele = 1

Yeah, I sure hope so. I'm deliberately holding back so everyone else can show off their stuff...

So that's 3 so far... so lets' have the 50th Anniversary Ivory and Black versions...

MIJ 50th Anniversary Custom Ivory (as played by the Edge in U2) = 4

MIJ 50th Anniversary Custom Black = 5

I'll play .............

......

AjayTele ............... I believe the official name for your black and white guitars is '90s Telecaster Custom. Almost all Fenders made that year had the 50th Anniversary sticker on the back of the headstock.

My first Tele:
1988 Squier / US 52RI Wiring, pots, Pups.
Don't play it much anymore as my taste in necks have changed. I just don't have the heart to get rid of it. She was my first...

Here's mine:

It has a new bone nut, locking Mini Grovers, Wilkinson Brass Saddles and a MOBB pickguard. It was also the first guitar I ever bought.

There has been much debate about those guitars. Yes, I know that the 50th Anniversary sticker was on ALL fender guitars made in that year, but I have only ever found those MIJ Customs with the two distinctive colour schemes with 50th stickers on them, which led me to believe that they were actually only made in that year, making them deFacto 50th Anniversary Specials.

I'd love to know if anyone esle has these models with or without 50th anniv. stickers...so we could prove or disprove the notion of them being speciifically made to cellebrate the 50th Anniv.

I have one of each. The black has a T serial number and no sticker. The white has a U serial number and has the sticker. Not sure that proves anything. The sticker could have been removed by a prior owner. I also have a MIM with the sticker.

Here's a '50s reissue in black.........

in my 1997 FJ catalog those are listed as the TLG-70P. Basswood body, MIJ p`ups and 6 way brass saddles.
Every lmited edition FJ I`ve ever seen was I.D.`d that way, not mentioned in the catalog. Pictured next to the rosewood, the paisleys and another sparkle finished Craft Collection tele. I believe they were production models and they don`t show up very often on the used market over here perhaps for two reasons...they weren`t made for very long and they may not have been very popular and didn`t sell many.
Interestingly...there is a small Fender Japan 15th anniversary crest type thingy printed on the cover of the catalog.

Sorry, forgot the description:

72 reissue Tele in Antugua with rosewood neck, tuners, pups and electronics from the 62 reissue

62 reissue Tele in trans blue with maple neck, tuners, pups and electronics from the 72 reissue

(I made the swap cause I liked the looks of the 62 body and the sound/maple neck, pups and tuners from the 72)

Clear as mud, eh?
