Wanted: Crook Custom Pics

I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on a Crook Custom tele.

I'm still having trouble picking the finish. I want a paisley finish but i'm not 100% sure on which color. I have seen everything on Bill's website, and found what I could here.

If you have Crook Paisley pics, please post them (again if you have already) so I can have a few last looks : )

any other thoughts on finish is appreiated.

Thanks,

I am a friend of Bill's from back in WV, and let me tell you, I saw them all, and never could decide on a color. My wife finally had enough and went behind my back, and her and Bill fixed me up with a pink relic. I couldn't have picked one better. It looks a lot like Brad's, and I even got the McVay G bender to complete it. Best sounding guitars in the world, not to mention the amount of time Bill has put into making these paisley guitars the absolute best they can be. The average person does not see what all goes into the finished product - especially when it comes to the color!

I have been in touch with him (Bill Crook) all summer long, and spoken on the phone. The guy has clearly thought more about Tele's then I will ever in my entire life, so I trust his advice and his product.

I was planning to order a black and white paisley, but now I'm leaning to blue. (I also like the tangerine as well)

There used to be a thread with a blue paisley from a while back, but I can't seem to find it. I was hoping that the same member might post the same pics again so I can have a look.

thanks for the comments

Here's mine.....

And here's a friend of mine's......

Bill Crook is one of the nicest guys in the business.... Heck, he's one of the nicest guys I've had the pleasure of speaking to - period!

Great guy and fabulous products!!! Best playing tele I've EVER played in my life is that brown paisley "choco paisley". Has a G bender and plays smoother than warm butter....... Man, I gotta get my friend to let me use his guitar again!

My blue one is just the body with my Fender neck. EXCELENT paint job, blows any other product away with it's quality.

Crook is #1 in my book!

Thanks for the pics everyone,

Tele_jas,

I think you just sold me on the blue paisley with that pic, I love it! have any more? So you did notice a difference between your buddy's Crook and your parts-caster (crook-fender)? Is it just the neck, or is there more to it?

I quite like the light blue and white paisley, like the esquire he built for Brad Paisley. If you don't like it, you could always sell it to me!

I just posted a couple pics of my Crooks. One Pink Paisley Relic, and the other my Waylon one that Bill did. They are in the member gallery under custom builders.
I have one more to put pics up of, but one of the other guys in the band has it right now. It is a see-thru charcoal color over flame maple. The 1/4" cap was left natural on the edge to match the neck - the back and sides solid black, and an antique white pearloid pickguard to finish it. It is very sharp. A Bill Lawrence 290 Pickup, it has a killer Buck Owens tone to it.

Let me know what you think of the others.

So whats the deal with the headstocks these days? You buy the body from Crook and what about the neck and head? I know that Crook don't have the Fender heads anymore, so what do they look like?

And if you want a Fender head, just buy the neck/head seperate? from....?

i would do that for mine but dont know how to post pics. it started out as a crook all the waybut i changed the neck(im 14 with small fingers and it had a FAT neck). i put a relic lookin fender neck that makes it lok like a real 68( so i guess its a fender/crook now). but the paisley body on it is GREAT.

to post a pic, first go to somewhere like www.imageshack.us and upload your pic (I choose the 640x480 size on the site) and copy the bottom link. then come back here and paste that link in between these symbols:

I purchased the body from Bill Crook and the neck from USACG. The necks that Bill uses are from USAGC.
Tele jas is correct the current headstocks looks like the Brown Paisley.

Bill has said absolutely no way on a traditional tele headstock, Crook headstock only since Fender got a little pissy about it a while back.

I would prefer a traditional fender headstock, but the Crook headstocks are starting to grow on me, especialy if they are finished to match the body like on the brown paisley shown.

Ahh I see it on the Brown Paisley. I guess I didn't look close enough on that one. The Crook headstock looks pretty good. Does Brad use any with the Crook Headstock?

I guess if I was doing a Pink Paisley Relic I'd try to go find a RI neck or something to make it look right. I think Fender should just shove it, people aren't going to buy a Fender if they're looking at a Crook just because of the headstock, they're just being anoying...

PS - Georgiahunt, your tele is BEAUTY!!! I think if I ever pony up it'll either be a gray/silver like yours or a Pink Paisley relic, I just dont' know yet. Do you have a pic of your headstock? Does it say Fender?
