Welllll, sorry for the tough first impression, flat ... I'm new here, too, and I've gotta say that this is probably the most civil forum I've ever visited. I'm sure you can understand how it looks - a new member signs on only to shill for some gear pimp ... happens all the time, and flies in the face of the prevailing philosophy of this group.

Anyhow, I apologize for the group, assuming, of course, that you're just another Tele lover, like us.

There is a difference in making a living and otherwise! I dare you to find a more tempered web forum. Opinions are worth the full price paid. If this is your "work" then so what. I agree with others, so what. But why don't "make" your own guitar?

It ain't my work and your sarcaism demonstates your profound lack of class. You know nothing about me or what I'm about. You come across as a dude with a chip on his shoulder. Your one of those guys who feels a need to put people down because of your lack of selfworth. You know the type always right, the expert. Well you don't know jack when it comes to public discourse. And I'm not shrilling for no one,all I did was ask a question about what he was about.

I am sorry

Your poor expression in the first post mislead me to believe it was your work. I know exactly what my self-worth (and actual worth) is: 1/6,000,000,000th of the human race. If you want to start this conversation over from scratch, we can do that, too. But I really think you started the whole thing with your post.

And now you resort to personal attacks. If you can't take criticism, too bad. I think the problem is that your question did not sound like a question, but a defense of a controversial figure here. You need to know if there are bees in the tree before you reach in, Pooh Bear.

Guys, guys...I was recently repremanded for a thread gone wrong. I got into a pissing contest with another poster & we both started to get personal. Lets cut this out. Flatpick, I'm glad you're here. I hope you continue to post. Odieman, you're a long time member. I enjoy reading your posts. I don't want to see you going down this path. Lets talk guitars, everyone.

Actually, you didn't ask anything. You stated that you had already ordered one and told an obtuse story about eBay bidding logistics, which also, BTW, gave me a look into your personality ... the chip, I'm afraid, is not on odie's shoulder, but square on yours, sir. Nuthin fer nuthin, but you're not making friends and influencing people here - not quite the way I would introduce myself to a group of potential new friends, IMHO.

I'll go first ... welcome to TDPRI, flat! Congrats on your new Tele - I hope it's every bit as beautiful as you wish. Head over to the Amp threads for lots of recommendations.

Welcome fellow New Englander.
Don't let these guys get to ya. Some of them are just old dogs who's first response to anything is to piss on it and see what happens.
That aside, I've learned more from the tech forums here in the last few months than I have in years of building on my own.

This is the truth. Great to look see all the pretty Teles there.
He's got a beautiful and very professional web site with stunning photographic work on the guitars. Gobs of beautiful pictures of each guitar.
I bet they play as good as they look.

The prices are what made me gag and choke.
Of course, I'm a cheap dude and would rather build my own.

I too want to bury the axe,no pun intended, and wish to say I'm sorry if I offended anyone. Were all here cause we love guitars and have made many friends over the years playing then. I really want to learn and contribute my experinces from playing 40 years and look forward to making new friends. As far as an amp is concerned I talked to Jim Nickleson about a "Lil Dawg Delux" and have ordered one. After spending many years and bucks to chase down that elusive perfect tone on the Dreadnaughts I had built for me, I wanted to find the right amp( I hope) from the get go and not waste my time looking. Now I need to find a reverb and tremolo box to get me started. Anyone have any recommendations?

Right on....

$700.00 to $800.00 and you have a custom shop quality guitar if it is beautifully finished, bolted together right and setup properly.
IMHO all the time spent is in the finish area that is the $$$ value and Pat's Guitars doesn't go there. All the guitars are partscasters so the labor is in the proper setup only but he charges like he did a custom finish....
Hey at least it's another avenue for us to go to buy a completed partscaster and enjoy playing.
Welcome to the forum Flatpick.

If you post your request over at the amp forum you will lots of good advice. There are some members on this forum who know more about guitar amps than one could ever imagine. They get into mods and custom builds like we do with teles.
Which is funny cause I spend a lot of time tweaking and modding my tele, but never considered touching the amp. Stock fender blues reissue. Love it the way it is.

There is a thread on this guitar somewhere here.....also if you Google "Army Green telecaster Custom/deluxe" a fine gentleman name Katsumi posted a short write up on it on his web site http://www.nymphusa.com/tele/.... he is also the guy that did the program where you can design your own guitar online choose your colors-hardware-etc.. and it helped me kinda see what I was wanting and what would work or not......I couldn't get this link to work but check it out if you have time......KISEKAE Virtual Guitar Modeling System

I stained it myself-but used alot of tips that I read about here at this very forum......It was my first time staining a guitar....but if you search "Minwax water Based stain" you'll get all the answers you'll need....I have enough stain left over for a several brothers and sisters and probally a cousin......I like green but not that much.....would like to finish a Black guard Pine bodied esquire and a Pine LP/tele hybrid with a P-90 in the neck in this color too......

I would have to find my Lowes' reciept but I think the stain was around $20...

Hey-I didn't mean any offense to any new guys/gals......Welcome everyone....don't run off..Hang out and post up some pics. I like pics.....alot!!!
