Need another opinion on the Squire Double Fat Tele

I have a friend selling his Squire Double Fat Tele and wondered if anyone had any opinions on this guitar?

I see Fender has a Custom FMT Tele that looks like the double fat but cost more. Also the FMT has a real flat neck radius too.

I played one in a local shop for a little while. It's ok for what it is. What impressed my about the guitar was that it retained more of the Tele feel than I expected. The feel however, isn't really worth much if it has so little of the Tele sound. Still, if it's not a vintage Tele vibe you're going for, It's an allright guitar overall, it just didn't really impress me enough in any one area to trigger my buying reflex. I look at it in much the same way as I look at my Epi SG - it's not an expensive guitar, and it doesn't sound or feel like an expensive guitar, but with a new pickup or two it can be made to sound well above average.

BTW, I play that Epi SG enough for it to have lost a good deal of finish.

I hate skinny/thin necks so....

...it doesn't work for me.

But if you're okay with the neck profile, I think they're actually kinda cool.
