Rosewood,maple...both are fine

I really don't have a favorite wood for the fretboard. There have been times when I've liked the look of one or the other better, but they both play fine. I have no really preference. Is anyone else like this?

Rosewood

I really feel that I play better on a rosewood board, I can get a grip for vibrato and string bends etc. I find maple far too 'slippery' and lacking in bite.
I tend to feel that the sound difference I perceive is there as a result of my altered playing style.

A slightly different slant on this is that I need chunky frets in order to be able to play well. The fact is I simply cannot play on low frets without sounding like a beginner.
Any thoughts?

I don't have much of a preference for maple fb's, tho all 4 of my Tele's have maple fb's. I have a rosewood fb on a 90s Strat and maple on a 70s, both play fine for me. Same thing with fret sizes, and fret radius. Maybe I prefer medium jumbo frets, but my fave Tele a 52RI has vintage size...I prefer the Fender 25.5" scale length, but I'm playing my 24.75" sl Gib Jr all the time now, no issues...I probably have too many axes, too little abiliity and don't play enough to develop preferences! But I dig em all.

I just like the looks of a maple board better on most guitars....

I have a couple of "super-strats" (Ibanez and Kramer), an Epi Les Paul, and a Jazz Bass with rosewood boards, but my teles and strats have maple...

I do like the look of the old custom teles, and used to have a white, double-bound with rosewood board....

There are differences, sure, in all my guitars, but I'm not really sure how much is due to the fretboard wood....

I am like that I don't care what it has on it. I have no problems bending or using vibrato on either. :D
