different pickguard for nocaster relic?

Hi Im interested to know any suggestions for a different colour pickguard for a nocaster relic? Would a 3ply pickguard dramatically alter the sound to the original 1ply?
(links welcome!)
thanks..

I can't see why a pickguard on a solidbody instrument would make any kind of tonal difference; especially on a Tele where the pickups are not suspended from the p/g. On an acoustic guitar it's arguable that a large and inflexible p/g might inhibit the top vibrating but on a Tele? Nope, can't see it.

Stupid question: why do you want to compromise the 'authenticity' of your Nocaster? I wouldn't touch mine!

Even to look at, I can't see why you'd want to change it. They're just perfect the way they are.
